Deep Puppetry certificate program

Sale Price: SEK 5,130.00 Original Price: SEK 6,800.00

This will be the last offering of the 8-week certificate in its current structure and pricing, as the program will shift to a new 10-week format later in 2025.

Through hands-on animation, shared inquiry, and weekly practice, we explore how giving life to an object becomes a way of meeting the world without control. This is relational work: learning to stay with what is present, to respond instead of direct, and to be shaped by the encounter rather than dominating it.

Across eight sessions, we move from contact with raw material into collaboration with emergent forms of life. We study how movement arises between two presences, how power circulates in small interactions, and how distributed agency can change how we meet the world. What begins as object animation becomes practicing a different way of relating to uncertainty, to difference, and to the not-me.

Over the course, we will:

• Listen through our hands
Follow movement where it already flows rather than imposing intention.

• Explore influence and autonomy
Practice supporting another being without controlling it; learn what accompaniment feels like.

• Animate the world
Blur the boundary between subject and object and work with animacy as a relational field.

• Stay with the unknown
Meet discomfort, incoherence, and the unfamiliar without tightening around it.

• Work with power and mutuality
Shift from “What do I want?” to “What is happening between us?” Notice scarcity, hesitation, and the impulse to intervene.

• Develop new relational capacities
Witness without colonizing and use improvisation as developmental practice.

• Bring ritual and reflection into the work
Let each session become both a laboratory and a site of meaning-meeting rooted in justice, imagination, and shared agency.

This is not puppetry for performance but puppetry as threshold, an embodied study of how we meet life without domination.

No artistic or performance background required.
