relational fieldwork

A live practice in how conditions shape relationship

Relational Fieldwork is a family of facilitated practices for noticing how group dynamics organize themselves.

The work focuses on participation and authority as they move in real time. Practices are deliberately structured so causality can be felt rather than explained.

Relational Fieldwork is not designed to fix individuals or resolve personal issues. It offers a way to notice how a field reorganizes when conditions shift.

choosing a format

Relational Fieldwork is offered in two distinct formats. They share an ethic but differ in scope, audience, and commitment.

Relational Field Session

A 90-minute live practice for individuals and small groups.

Sessions are open-enrollment and held on Zoom. Participants take part in a small number of guided group experiments with clear constraints and minimal discussion. No preparation or prior experience is required.

This format is suited for people who want direct experience of relational field dynamics without entering a longer program.

Relational Field LAB

A facilitated lab for organizations, institutions, and closed groups.

Labs are longer-form and scheduled by inquiry. They are designed for groups working with complexity, collaboration, or ethical pressure who want to explore how conditions shape collective behavior in meetings, learning environments, or shared work.

This format emphasizes shared observation and responsibility without personalization or diagnosis.

Shared conditions

Across all Relational Field formats:

  • The work is experiential and facilitated live

  • Discussion is limited and non-interpretive

  • No personal sharing is required

  • The container is clearly bounded in time and scope

What participants take from the work is not prescribed.

If you’re unsure which format fits your context, you’re welcome to read more or inquire. No commitment is assumed.
